Prepare for an unforgettable journey as you experience the awe-inspiring spectacle of a total solar eclipse from three of the most breathtaking vantage points in the Southern Hemisphere. The eclipse path in Australia will sweep across the dramatic landscapes of the Kimberley in Western Australia and the vast expanse of the Northern Territory. Meanwhile, in New Zealand, the lower South Island including scenic gems like Milford Sound and Dunedin will offer prime viewing locations.
We’re curating a series of immersive eclipse adventures, including land-based tours in the Northern Territory and New Zealand’s South Island, as well as a spectacular cruise through the remote Kimberley coast off northwest Australia. With up to five minutes of totality off Western Australia and three minutes in New Zealand, each location promises an extraordinary viewing experience.
Throughout these events there will be talks from eclipse experts and members of New Scientist's editoral team. Between them, they will cover such subjects as solar photography, astronomy, future eclipses and the all-important pre-eclipse briefing, ensuring you're well prepared for the moment of totality.
These experiences are designed for curious-minded solo travellers, couples, and friends seeking a relaxed and enriching adventure. Whether you're new to solar astronomy, a seasoned eclipse chaser, or simply looking to witness one of nature’s most awe-inspiring events, you'll be in great company with fellow sky-watchers under southern skies.
